Saturday Running

This morning on my run I saw 2 armadillos, about a dozen buzzards and a whole bunch of cows. The temp was about 65 degrees and the air was clean and sweet. No asphalt. Gotta love the running in the country.

Running Podcasts

If you are a runner or walker, you have to check out the Podrunner podcasts. DJ Steve Boyett lists podcasts in fixed-tempo music. This is a great way to stay in a rhythm. The run or walk becomes like meditation. And they are FREE. Steve relies on subscribers to his podcasts to help pay for the recordings and postings. They are awesome.

Running Anniversary

I have been running for a year now. I have ran four 5k races. My next race is October 3rd at Delaney Vineyards. This was my first race last year. I plan to beat my time from last year. If I can finish under 30 minutes then I could possibly place in the top 10 in my age group according to the times from last year.

Today is cross-training weights day and tomorrow is a long run. The long run is usually on Saturday but we are going to Austin Friday afternoon and after visiting 6th Street I doubt I'll be running much on Saturday. That will probably be a swim day.

I have joined the YMCA so that I can add the weight machines. I feel strong already and I've only be going for a month. This cross-training will make my runs stronger.

Here we come under-30-minutes-time!!
